Nine liberal democrats voted against Rep. Steve King’s recent legislation recognizing the “importance of Christmas and the Christian faith.”
On Fox News Channel, the only fair and balanced news channel on television, Representative King echoed the founding fathers by saying, “We’re a Christian nation founded on Christian principals…it’s time we stood up and said so, and said to the rest of America, ‘Be who you are and be confident.’ And let’s worship Christ and let’s celebrate Christmas.”
One of the liberal secularists who voted against the bill was Alcee Hastings (D-Fl). He recently lied about the resolution and said the bill was “another sad attempt by Conservative Republicans to skew the line between church and state…America is not a Christian nation.”

Many of the liberal democrats who vote “nay” on the resolution supported similar bills supporting recognizing Ramadan and many Indian religious celebrations.

If people say 'Happy Holidays' to people who's traditions they're not familiar with, they're not doing it out of hatred of Christmas and Christianity, they're doing it so as not to be exclusionary. Why would you wish an orthodox Jew a "merry Christmas" if he's not going to be celebrating it??
All you need to affirm the nation's commitment to Christianity is take a look around at all of the Christmas trees that adorn inconspicuous and opressed places like... oh, I don't know... The White House?? The City Halls of pretty much any town in the country (Including San Francisco, I might add. No one has protested it yet, either.)?? Rockefeller Plaza?? Everywhere???
We're celebrating Christmas like crazy in this country, and the only people who seem to think we're not are right-wing sensationalists and scaremongers like Fox News looking to get a seasonal boost in their ratings.
War in Iraq?? Dollar in decline?? Oil prices skyrocketing?? Planet overheating??
NO!! Don't pay attention to that!! There's a war on Christmas and the GAYS want to get MARRIED!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?!?
If that's not enough for you, THESE GUYS think that Congress has better things to do than to reaffirm the hegemon!!!
